The first course, which combined football and an introduction to digital creativity, took place between June 30th and July 4th 2008 at the Bauer stadium in Saint Ouen.
It welcomed 15 children aged between 11 and 13. On the agenda: football training, meeting artists and some short football matches.
Led by Djeff Regottaz, the Artistic Director of the Red Star Lab and a grant-winner of the Jean-Luc Lagardere Foundation, the children were also able to work with artists.
And so, the video Director Donald Abbad worked with the young Red Star football players on memory and recollections.
By asking them about their footballing memories, Donald wanted to identically reproduce with them the best goal they had seen on television. With such choreography, each played a determined part, from the victorious scorer to the by-passed defender, so that the film of this goal was as realistic as possible. The young actors were confronted by the fatality of the repetitive act: chance and spontaneity no longer have their place, but interpretation and especially imagination are the cornerstones of this act of memory.
At the end of the course, the Akatre group came to work with the young people on the breaking down of movement by using photographic animation.
This work will culminate in an exhibition in the Bauer stadium in the autumn
