For five days during the April school holidays, seven students in their final year at the lycée Jacques Feyder in Epinay sur Seine were welcomed by various structures and subsidiaries within the Lagardère Group and by L’Equipe magazine, and were introduced to the accounting and communications professions.
Hayfa, Mohamed, Samir, Marwin, Jean-Noël, Dimé and Mike experienced the world of work for the first time, and had all volunteered to take part in the programme, which was new to their school. In June they will present a report of their experiences as part of their Baccalaureate exams.
Three students in their pre-Baccalaureate year following the rare “advanced sport” courses set up in lycées in Seine Saint Denis also took part in shorter, three-day work placements. Morgane, Boubacar and Fayçal were given a tour of the different departments at the Lagardère Paris Racing Eblé site before rounding off their placement with a visit to TeamLagardère.
This was a unique occasion for these young people who are passionate about football, boxing and tennis, and they were able to find out how a Group involved in sport works. None of them will forget their meeting with the famous judoka Thierry Rey, who told them about his Olympic experience, and gave them some wise advice: “Talent is nothing if you don’t work at it. Even the greatest champions work on the same sequences of movements day in, day out in order to be the best they can on the day of competition”. Listening to Rey’s words gave tremendous encouragement to the young students!
