AWARD-WINNING PROJECT: An investigation Sur les traces de Pol Pot (in the footsteps of Pol Pot), in a Thailand which is plagued by social and political unrest
In 1989, Pol Pot, the Khmer rouge tyrant, disappeared. Following in the footsteps of Pol Pot is only an underlying theme, for Marc Victor; the pretext for a more in-depth exploration of Thailand and more particularly the South East of the region, where everything can be found: refugee camps, trafficking in arms, gemstones and drugs, misappropriation of international aid, etc.
These facts are all well-known nowadays but are still hazy, revealing a great deal about the entire global political situation in South East Asia . Marc Victor travels through all the hot spots and dark corners of the country: Bangkok, Pattaya, the roads in the South, “site 8”, Thailand’s islands and even refugee camps.
