AWARD-WINNING PROJECT: To produce of Bonne fête maman, a screenplay by Tilly. The story of a family in disarray, over a weekend in Normandy.
As a teenager the silver screen fascinated Philippe Martin; less perhaps for its stars and its glamour and more for everything that isn’t on show: the production of a film, its cost… all the economic aspects, which were so interesting to him and which no one talked about.
In 1990, Philippe Martin founded his short film production company, Les Films Pelleas, at the tender age of 24, providing him with the means to look for, discover and work with young writers, directors and technicians.
Then, Philippe Martin discovered Jean-Claude Tilly, a theatre scriptwriter and director. His extremely personal world, the accuracy and precision of his writing, his way of directing actors...everything about him is fascinating. The press critics too are unanimous, praising the fierce realism of his plays and their unique tone.
At that point, Philippe Martin asked him to write his first original screenplay for a feature length film. One year later, the screenplay was completed: Bonne fête maman. His long-term aim? To find a balance between the production of feature length films and documentaries (preferably musical). To continue to look for, hunt out and unearth young writers. He knows that they are both his future and that of the film industry.
