Comedian and Humorist, Julian de Ruyck won the first Best Newcomer Prize from the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation in 2007 at the "Paris Comedy" festival whose aim is to reward the young guns of comedy. Since September 2007, it has been running a "public speaking and self-confidence" workshop at the Jacques Feyder High School in Epinay-on-Seine.
The aim of this workshop is to encourage students' use of body language and oral communication, through real life situations (job interviews, public speaking, using the microphone, etc.). Through the sessions, the youngsters discover different communication tools.
Based on theatrical improvisation, various group and individual exercises are planned with the aim of preparing the students physically and orally for their main challenge: the French Baccalaureate examination. "This workshop is an opportunity for these young students to learn in a fun way how to use space, develop their imagination, encourage use of body language and oral communication, develop their thirst for knowledge and the desire to learn. ", says Julian de Ruyck.
Dare to commit, Dare to meet are the workshop’s keys words. This is why at the end of each session the students improvise in teams on different themes.
