AWARD-WINNING PROJECT:Tim, Tom et Zoé, an educational CD-ROM that tells the story of three cousins on holiday, invites children to discover something new about the everyday world around them.
Pierre Trémolières didn’t discover CD-ROMs while he was at primary school. It was only after earning his photographic laboratory technician diploma at the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris that he stayed on to train as a multimedia designer-director. After completing several training placements in various image-related positions, Pierre spent a number of months working for Ateliers Janjac, Hyper Office and EMAT-Bossard Consultants.
His educational project, which includes input from teachers, won over the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation with its detailed graphic treatment and the two main principles underpinning its development. “We didn’t want to include any references to a specific school age group, even though the activities we offered corresponded to those levels,“ explains Pierre. “We also invited children to be creative, both on the computer and in life in general.”
Three cousins go to their grandparents’ house for a week’s holiday, providing them with an opportunity to learn to count, read and have fun. Finding their grandmother’s house, writing a letter to their mother and tidying their bedroom are just some of the activities that make up the day-to-day adventures of Tim, Tom and Zoé.
