Fannytastic's album "Plusieurs" (released on September 17, 2007) was awarded a prize by the Charles Gros Academy on May 9, 2008. This second album has been recorded thanks to the Jean-Luc Lagardere Talent Grant that was awarded to Fannytastic in 2006.
Fanny Chériaux started singing as soon as she could make a sound. When she was seven, her mother signed her up at the Lamballe School of Music, where the child began her gentle initiation into classical music and the piano. It was only natural, then, that when she arrived in Rennes to study psychology, she would hang out regularly at an Irish pub and start singing. A musician presented her with an accordion, performed with her in bars in Rennes and renamed her Fannytastic. After that, the music never stopped: she resumed playing the piano to write songs, formed a trio under her stage name, toured the festival circuit and opened for Vincent Delerm, La Tordue and Paris Combo. She also won over Thomas Ferson, who introduced her to his record company. “I wasn’t ready,” she acknowledges with humility. However, she stayed in Brittany and ended up self-producing her first recording, “Lalala,” which showed her strong folk influences. Its critical success led her to form a new group, this one with a drummer and bass guitarist. She let herself explore a more rock-flavoured style, continued to fine-tune her lyrics and worked to develop her voice. By then, her new compositions only needed a little help before they were ready to be recorded, produced and promoted. The second album "Plusieurs" was released on September 17, 2007.
