Thanks to support from the Fondation since it was founded two years ago, EuropaVox is expressing Europe's identity through music, by bringing together young, talented "ambassadors" from the 27 countries of the European Union in Clermont Ferrand.
This contemporary music festival, organised during France's Presidency of the European Union, is sure to be a high point of the cultural season.
For this year's exceptional edition, EuropaVox will tour six major French cities, in september,2008..
As part of the cultural calendar related to France's Presidency of the European Union, EuropaVox will feature a selection of European artists in a truly national tour. This tour aims to make connections between concert halls, the French public, and the European music scene. It hopes to promote European musical diversity across France to raise public and professional awareness of the art form.
In September 2008, the six European groups selected in Clermont-Ferrand will perform in Paris, Nantes, Toulouse, Lille, Montpellier, and Lyon.
Digital Music and Innovation
As in previous years, the Fondation has made it possible to publish the new European compilation of contemporary music (rock, world, electronic, urban)
In 2006, a European web-radio was created thanks to the Fondation's sponsorship, in order to support, extend, and develop the festival's activity throughout Europe. As the first web-radio dedicated to new European music, it offers an overview of the best music in Europe today, with a new playlist every month. This year, the web-radio is set to offer new features such as interviews, concert broadcasts, and special programmes.
New in 2008: a digital compilation made especially for the European cultural season. A customised EuropaVox-Fondation Jean-Luc Lagardère digital card will allow users to download the entire EuropaVox selection, more than 120 songs, on europavox.com and to organise the music on their computers or portable music players.
